Overview and Itinerary

Fully enjoy the highlights of Kamakura and Enoshima in one day. Visit the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in, ride the nostalgic Enoden train along the coast, and explore Enoshima Shrine—concluding your journey with sweeping sea views from the Enoshima Sea Candle.

– Meet the guide

Your guide will meet you at the East Exit of JR Kamakura Station; please look for the "CHECKBOX TOUR" sign. We will set off after a brief overview of the day's itinerary and the geography and history of Kamakura.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine

Located in the heart of Kamakura, this shrine of the Kamakura Shogunate stands as a symbol of the city, which was designed in its entirety by Minamoto no Yoritomo. A guide will explain the philosophy of the warrior government as revealed through the layout of the shrine grounds.

Lunch on Komachi-dori

Next, we head to Komachi-dori, Kamakura’s premier shopping street. Enjoy lunch while strolling and sampling local delicacies such as Kamakura croquettes and crêpes. Your guide will introduce recommended shops and share insights into the local food culture.(Lunch at your own expense)

Kotoku-in — The Great Buddha of Kamakura

A large bronze Buddha statue standing approximately 13 meters tall. Although it was once enshrined within a Great Buddha Hall, the structure was swept away by a tsunami; for nearly 800 years since, the statue has remained seated in the open air. A guide will share the story of its history and its structural beauty.

Hase-dera Temple

This is one of Kamakura’s premier temples for viewing flowers. It houses a standing wooden statue of the Eleven-Faced Kannon (Avalokiteśvara) that stands over nine meters tall. The observation deck within the temple grounds offers a panoramic view of Sagami Bay, making it one of the best spots to take in the scenery.

Enoshima — From Enoshima Shrine to the Sea Candle

We will cross over to Enoshima and visit Enoshima Shrine. Afterward, we will head to the "Sea Candle" observation lighthouse, where you can enjoy a 360-degree view overlooking Sagami Bay and the mountains of Kamakura. The tour will conclude at Katase-Enoshima Station.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the departure time are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking price.
  • If the tour is canceled due to bad weather or similar conditions, our office will contact you and provide a full refund.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. As this is a walking tour using public transport, please refrain from bringing large wheeled luggage.
  • Purchasing travel insurance on your own prior to the tour is recommended.
  • All participants aged 6 and over require a paid ticket. Children aged 5 and under may join free of charge but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • Please note that you cannot join the tour if you arrive at the meeting point after the designated time.

As long as spaces are available, you can book until 6:00 AM on the day of the tour. At the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Centers located at Shinjuku Station, Odawara Station, and Hakone-Yumoto Station, reservations are also accepted after 6:00 AM.

Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the tour. The number of participants cannot be changed, so please cancel your booking once and rebook.

Please book through EMot Online Tickets, Odakyu Electric Railway's official ticket and tour sales website. In addition to online booking, reservations are also accepted at the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Centers at Shinjuku Station, Odawara Station, and Hakone-Yumoto Station.

We guarantee departure with just one participant.

An English-speaking guide will lead the tour.

The tour will be held even in the rain. However, it may be cancelled in the event of severe weather or the suspension of public transport.

As the tour uses public transport and involves a fair amount of walking, we do not recommend it.

Since the tour uses public transport, we recommend joining with hand luggage only. If you have a suitcase, it can be stored for a fee at the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Centers at Shinjuku Station or Hakone-Yumoto Station.

The T-shirt is available as an option. You do not have to wear it.

Lunch is not included. You are free to eat on your own during the free time within the tour.

Lunch, transport fares, admission/worship fees, and the entrance fees for the Enoshima Escar and the Enoshima Sea Candle are not included in the tour fee, so please pay for these on-site. (Kotoku-in only accepts cash, so please have cash ready.)

Children are welcome to join. However, as the tour involves travel by public transport and some walking depending on the spot, please review the itinerary in advance before joining.

Please wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. We also recommend dressing in layers that are easy to adjust.
